Good Friday thought:
From the cross, the Christ yells, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
In this he was quoting the Psalms, his childhood prayer book.
At the end he was doing what he was taught to do as a boy: say his prayers.

Thank you for this post. Never has anyone mentioned this part of the Passion in all of my church going experiences. Now, I have a very limited Good Friday church going history. I admit it. However, this phrase stands out so clearly in the Gospel and it always seems like God has let him down in some way. You provide a different perspective and it makes total sense. Most People pray at the end of their life and they make peace with their life and world.
Thank you.
May your Easter season be filled with joy.
Thanks, Shana!
Blessed Easter to you and yours as well!
